SPARKLING WINE & CHAMPAGNE: Everything from how its made to how to pop the cork – we'll teach you how to enjoy sparkling wine the other 364 days of the year.
CHEESE AND WINE: From hard to soft, mild to blue – a hands-on exploration of wine and cheese.
COCKTAIL AND SPIRIT WORKSHOPS
POPULAR LATIN DRINKS: An in depth look into the four most popular Latin American cocktails; including the Margarita, Mojito, Caipihrinia, and the Pisco Sour. It will cover ingredients, history, and how to prepare each drink.
SPIRITS OF MEXICO: An in-depth look into the spirits of Mexico. This class will involve a tasting of a wide breadth of different Tequilas, Mezcals, and Sotol, all the while learning about the history, and culture of agave based spirits.
UNDERSTANDING FLAVOR PROFILE IN COCKTAILS: A basic explanation of flavor components and how they relate to cocktails and to each other. Flavor components covered will be: Salty, Savory, Bitter, Dry, Sour, and Piquant.
BARRIO COCKTAILS: OUR PHILOSOPHY OF FLAVORS: The thought process, inspiration, and building process of our favorite signature Barrio cocktails.
LOT NO. 3 COCKTAILS: The art and science of building a signature drink.
RUM: We'll provide a history, tasting notes and why rum is cooler than you may think. An in depth coverage of all things made from Molasses and Sugar cane.
YOUR HOME BAR (BOOZE, BITTERS, BOOKS, TOOLS, ICE...): A simple, and honest guide to setting up your own home bar without breaking the bank. A professional's guide to building a bar for your home. Including a pricing guide, tips for making wise and informed spirit purchases; tools, books, and where to find all the resources you'll need for building a home bar. Including a guide of suggested spirits, and the recipes with which to use them.
HOW TO MAKE...: A great team-building class centered around a specific cocktail of your choice. Includes a contest where team members break off into small groups and compete to see who can create the best cocktail.
WHAT IS REALLY OLD, IS NEW AGAIN? BEER: Breweries keep popping up all over the state. Before you purchase your next six-pack, let's taste the classics, and discuss fun questions such as: Can the proper glass make the beer look, smell and taste better? Does dark beer mean fattening beer? Why are these new local beers so much pricier? What kind of beer should you pair with your next meal...?
KEEPING IT LOCAL WITH... BEER: Small-batch beer is being produced all over Washington, as well as the rest of the country. In this workshop we will taste the original style from Europe, next to the slightly altered, but creative version from Western Washington.
